About Square Crop

Square Crop is a free web tool for cropping photos to a perfect square. It was built for a job that should take seconds but often doesn't: turning a batch of differently shaped photos into consistent square images, without installing software or handing your pictures to a website.

Why it exists

Most image editors make square cropping fiddly, and most online croppers upload your photos to their servers first. Square Crop does one thing well. You drop in your images, frame each one, and save. It works through a queue, so cropping fifty headshots or product shots is as quick as cropping one.

How it works

Square Crop runs entirely in your web browser. When you add a photo, your browser reads the file from your device and shows it in the editor. When you save, the browser cuts out the area you chose at full resolution using the standard HTML canvas and downloads the result.

• Your images never leave your device. No photo is uploaded, stored or processed on a server.
• No account needed. Open the page and start cropping.
• No watermarks or limits. Crop as many images as you like, as often as you like.
• Original quality. Crops come from the full-resolution original, and crops keep the original file format for JPEG, PNG and WebP.

Keeping it free

Square Crop may show a small number of ads to cover hosting and development costs. Ads never have access to your images. You can read more in the privacy policy.
